Izzi Stricker Drops a ‘Numb’ Nelly Korda Confession as Steve Stricker Hails Daughter’s 25-Year-Old Idol
Nelly Korda has garnered a lot of accolades over the years. However, if one were to point out the most special of them all, the love by her fans would indubitably top the list. And surprisingly, she has managed to experience the same once again at the ongoing PNC Championship, courtesy of none other than Steve Stricker’s daughter.
The senior pro paired up with his daughter, Izzi Stricker, during the first round of the special event against team Korda on Saturday. And, following the day’s play, the 12X PGA Tour champ was all praise for his child as he compared the 17-year-old athlete to the LPGA Tour pro, while the former shared a confession of her own!
The PNC Championship is already in full swing at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club. However, it seems that the event has become more of a meet-up between athletes and their idols as the younger member of the Stricker team was spotted fangirling over Korda. Surprisingly, even the senior pro couldn’t help but commend the LPGA Tour pro.
In a presser after the first round, the 56-year-old expressed his admiration for the 1X major champ as he said, “She’s got an unusual short game.” However, the 17X PGA Tour Champions winner didn’t forget to rope in his own daughter into the mix as he compared the two. Moreover, after watching Korda’s game, he said, “That’s kind of the stuff that Izzy is going to have to progress to, and she’s capable for sure” all the while pointing out how the 17-year-old just needs to get the time and the reps in.
