‘Wanted the Money’: While Dragging Tiger Woods’ Into Filth, Phil Mickelson’s Nemesis Once Again Takes a Vicious Jibe at the Lefty
Phil Mickelson’s nemesis, Alan Shipnuck, has once again taken a vicious jibe at the Lefty, this time dragging Tiger Woods into the filth.
In an interview with Golf Magazine, Shipnuck said that Mickelson “wanted the money” when he decided to join the LIV Golf Invitational Series. He also said that Mickelson is a “hypocrite” for criticizing the PGA Tour while still playing in its events.
“Phil Mickelson wanted the money,” Shipnuck said. “He’s a hypocrite. He criticizes the PGA Tour, but he still plays in its events. He’s all about the money.”
Shipnuck also took a dig at Woods, saying that he is trying to explain his comeback after the accident.
“Tiger Woods is trying to explain his comeback after the accident,” Shipnuck said. “He’s got a lot to make up for.”
Shipnuck has been a vocal critic of Mickelson since the Lefty made his decision to join LIV Golf. In his book “Phil: The Rip-Roaring (and Unauthorized!) Biography of Golf’s Most Colorful Superstar,” Shipnuck wrote that Mickelson is a “complicated” figure who is “driven by money and fame.”
It is unclear why Shipnuck has such a vendetta against Mickelson. However, his latest comments are sure to further fuel the feud between the two men.
Here is an interesting perspective on Shipnuck’s comments:
Some people believe that Shipnuck is simply trying to sell books and generate publicity for himself. Others believe that he is genuinely concerned about the future of professional golf and that he sees Mickelson as a threat to the PGA Tour.
Whatever his motives, Shipnuck’s comments are sure to stir up controversy and debate. It will be interesting to see how Mickelson responds to his nemesis’ latest attack.
