‘Unfair’: Hours Before Lexi Thompson’s Much-Anticipated Debut, PGA Tour Pro Stirs the Pot With Scathing Accusations

Lexi Thompson recently received the honor of being invited to the Shriner’s Open, a PGA Tour event. The event will start on Thursday. Very few LPGA Tour Pros have got this honor. Some PGA Tour Pros have had reservations against women being invited to men’s events in the past though.

However, a recent conversation around the Shriners shed light on a different matter. A PGA Tour pro has raised questions about the fairness of the way the Shriners is being conducted. The 27-year-old had an issue with the final field of the event.

Dylan Wu turned pro in 2021 and joined the PGA Tour a year later. He recently gave an impressive performance at the Fortinet Championship where he finished with a shared 14th position.

He has now tweeted about how the PGA Tour is deciding its field differently for its different events and it’s confusing. Wu has made it to the 78-member field of Zozo Championship 2023, which is the only PGA Tour event that happens in Japan. However, Wu is not in the Shriner’s Open.
