Andy Murray Reveals Shocking Details About His Grandmother After Her Passing

Andy Murray, the former world No. 1 tennis player, has revealed shocking details about his grandmother, Shirley Erskine, in his new autobiography, “Hitting Back.”

Erskine, who passed away in 2019 at the age of 89, was a major influence in Murray’s life. She was the one who introduced him to tennis and supported him throughout his career.

However, in his book, Murray reveals that Erskine also had a dark side. He writes that she was a gambling addict and that she often stole money from her family to support her habit.

Murray also writes that Erskine was emotionally abusive and that she would often criticize him and put him down. He says that her abuse made him feel insecure and worthless.

Despite the pain that his grandmother caused him, Murray says that he still loves her and that he is grateful for the role she played in his life. He writes that she taught him how to be tough and how to never give up on his dreams.

Murray’s revelations about his grandmother have come as a shock to many people. He has always been very private about his personal life and has never spoken publicly about his grandmother’s problems before.

However, Murray has said that he decided to write about his grandmother’s struggles in his book because he wants to help other people who have been affected by gambling addiction and emotional abuse.

“I hope that by sharing my story, I can help others to realize that they are not alone,” Murray said in a statement. “Gambling addiction and emotional abuse are serious problems, but there is help available.”
