Nelly Korda and Her ‘Clutch’ Partner Is Team USA’s Only Breather After a Strong Wake Up Call From the European Rivals
It was a scintillating first day at the Solheim Cup in Finca Cortesin in Spain on Friday. The Stacy Lewis-led team will be in the hopes of becoming an obstacle to the European squad’s historic three-peat achievement. And, at the center of the spotlight is none other than Nelly Korda with her partner.
The LPGA cover girl and her on-course companion had been nothing short of amazing on the Friday foursomes. And, the duo has managed to emerge as an immovable force on Saturday as the 1X major winner and her “clutch putt” partner provide rays of hope, on what can be dubbed as a rough day for America!
The younger Korda sibling was paired up once more with the ever-talented Allisen Corpuz on the Saturday foursome session. The gifted duo did not disappoint again when they got pitted against their European counterparts, Georgia Hall and Celine Boutier. The decision to pair the two by Lewis, on both days, proved to be the best move by the American skipper.
The twosome came out guns-a-blazing again as the two golfers went 5-up after the 13th at the time of writing. The three birdies in the eleven holes, coupled with 3 bogeys from their European opponents propelled them to a huge lead in the second day’s foursome session. However, the rest of the American team has had somewhat of a rocky day as opposed to the exceptional performance they put up in the first session on Friday.
