New bawls please: Andy Murray’s wife Kim Sears gives birth to the couple’s FOURTH child… as the two-time Wimbledon champion, 33, withdraws from the Dubai Tennis Championships next week

ndy Murray has joined Roger Federer in making a late withdrawal from next week’s ATP Tour event in Dubai after the birth of his fourth child.

 

 

The double Wimbledon champion and wife Kim have quickly built a large family, with the latest arrival putting on hold the next stage of his latest comeback.

 

 

The Murrays are now a gang of six, with their latest baby welcomed into the world to join Sophia, Edie and Teddy. Sophia is the eldest, having been born in February 2016

 

 

The Murrays didn’t confirm their previous pregnancy until a week before Kim was due, after she sparked speculation she was expecting when she arrived at Wimbledon in 2019 wearing a maternity-style polka dot top while supporting her husband in the mixed doubles.

 

 

After gaining his first ATP Tour win of the year in Rotterdam last week – having been forced to miss the Australian Open after testing positive for Covid – the former world No 1 had intended to travel to Dubai.

However his management stated that, having been home for the new arrival, there would no longer be enough time for him to prepare properly.

Murray gave a rare insight into his family life in at interview with The Times in October last year, explaining how he and Kim had coped during lockdown.

‘At the time coronavirus started I was rehabbing, and I was actually fine missing tennis, because everybody else was missing it as well,’ he said. ‘I just got to spend lots of time with my family at home.
