Maria Sharapova took to Instagram to share a glimpse into her vacation in Greece. Sharapova, a former five-time Grand Slam champion, is vacationing in Greece with her fiance Alexander Gilkes and their son Theodore. In a photo dump posted on Instagram, Sharapova can be seen enjoying the sea, Greek cuisine, reading books, and most importantly – having quality time with her fiance and son.
“A holiday during the summer?? Still feels new to me (laughing emoji). My favorite at the very end,” Sharapova captioned her Instagram post.
Sharapova became a mother last year
In 2022 July, 36-year-old Sharapova announced that she and her fiance Gilkes welcomed their first child.
After Theodore was born, former world No 1 Sharapova admitted that becoming a mother was something she dreamed about. A few months after welcoming her first child, Sharapova admitted there were still things she needed to learn about motherhood but noted that she was enjoying the process.
“That’s hard! I think it depends on where you are in life; I can’t compare them. I was really ready for motherhood. It was something that I dreamed of forever. I have a really good relationship with my own mom—we’re really close and share a lot—and I’m an only child, so I felt like I was ready to have a child of my own and pass along my own experiences.
I’m really excited to watch this little boy grow up, although that is still incredibly hard because I’m still mostly trying to figure things out! Every day is a new day and every time you think you have something down, you realize you don’t.
There’s always something new to learn and about them and about yourself. That’s incredibly beautiful, but it’s also challenging,” Sharapova told NewBeauty last November.Since retiring from pro tennis in 2020, Sharapova has been family and business-orientated.
