Lydia Ko Finally Reveals Her Ultimate Goal, and It’s Not a Re-Entry Into the World Top Rankings!
In any undertaking, a person’s form can rise and dip. This is especially true for those who are involved in professional sports. Even the ones who are popular for their consistency might sometimes slip and get into a rough phase in their career. Although it might be a stretch to call it a rough phase, Lydia Ko is going through one of them.
Being the youngest golfer ever to reach the world’s number 1 position, Ko enjoys a loyal and enthusiastic fanbase. And her fans have been waiting for something to cheer them up. In a recent video posted by the PGA Tour’s Instagram handle, Ko gave her fans, especially her Canadian fans, a chance to smile wide.
After winning the title at the CME Group Tour Championship in November last year, Lydia Ko didn’t play much until February this year. She shared the sixth position with three others at the Honda LPGA Championship in Thailand in February.
And it has been a dull phase for her following that. Ko hasn’t made it to the top 30 in any tournament in the past few months. Expectations for her comeback are sky high with the Canada-Pacific Women’s Open beginning this Thursday.
Amidst all this, Lydia Ko has stepped forward to confess her plans to shift to Canada, and it now has her fans rejoicing. The 26-year-old shared her love for Canada in a recent video put up by the PGA Tour’s Instagram handle.
She fondly exclaimed, “I love it so much here that at one point I started googling, do New Zealanders get any privileges in getting permanent residency or visas in Canada.”
