Roger Federer flat out disagrees with his dad after watching Wimbledon with Princess Kate
Roger Federer insisted to his dad that he did not wish he was playing at Wimbledon during the Championships earlier this summer. The tennis icon lapped up the tournament alongside the Princess of Wales, who he has revealed is a good friend.
Federer has opened up on the pain of not being able to play at Wimbledon in 2022. Knee surgery kept the Swiss star out of the competition 12 months ago and he was forced to watch on from the stands.
But having since retired from the sport, the 41-year-old was able to be more laid back as he took in the tournament. Federer insists he felt ‘content’ simply enjoying matches alongside Princess Kate.
“Last year I walked out on Centre Court for the 100-year anniversary celebration. It was beautiful but painful,” the 20-time Grand Slam champion told the New York Times.
