Tiger Woods finally breaks his silence on the $3 Billion merger
To fans’ surprise, he finally emerged as a beam of hope for the PGA Tour players amid the confusion and protest regarding PGA Tour commissioner, Jay Monahan. The lack of transparency and uncertainty regarding their futures had led many PGA Tour players to speak up and demand Monahan’s resignation.
When Woods announced that he would be joining as the sixth player director on the PGA Tour Policy Board, it showed his unwavering support of Monahan and his decision behind the controversial merger. With Woods in the system, players as well as followers of the sport hope to bring more transparency. He said,
“I am honored to represent the players of the PGA TOUR. This is a critical point for the TOUR, and the players will do their best to make certain that any changes that are made in TOUR operations are in the best interest of all TOUR stakeholders, including fans, sponsors and players.
