Carlos Alcaraz leaves ball kid in awe days after Novak Djokovic behaviour called out
Wimbledon champion Carlos Alcaraz appeared to leave a ball boy in awe a week after his triumph in south west London. The Spaniard is playing for the first time since defeating Novak Djokovic in the Wimbledon final.
Alcaraz is competing at the Hopman Cup this week. He is fresh from winning the second Grand Slam of his career.
And the 20-year-old sensation has already wowed the ball kids in France, where he is teaming up in mixed doubles with Rebeka Masarova. A heartwarming video shared online shows one of the children involved being stunned by Alcaraz’s presence.
In the clip tweeted by Tennis TV, Alcaraz is seen walking to the side of the court to seemingly shake hands with someone in attendance. But viewers spotted in the background the incredulous reaction of a ball boy who appeared stunned by Alcaraz’s presence
Despite only recently emerging from his teens, Alcaraz has earned a reputation as one of the most loved players on the tour. And that was evidenced by the reaction of the child who seemed in awe of the Wimbledon winner.
It was a completely contrasting scenario to one involving Djokovic during the Wimbledon final. Sam Asghari, the husband of pop singer Britney Spears, slammed the Serbian star for appearing to shout at a ball kid during his showdown clash with Alcaraz.
