LPGA Star Uses Her Daughter’s Excruciating Health Battle To Do a Noble Cause; Jessica Korda and Rest of Golf World Lends a Hand in Support

LPGA is hosting its new tournament Dow Great Lakes Bay Invitational from tomorrow. But the competitive spirit aside the tournament is also being used for a noble cause.

LPGA Tour pro Jane Park, who is suffering the ill fate of watching her daughter fight an extreme illness, will also be competing in the event. However, she is using this opportunity to do extreme good, and golf stars like Jessica Korda and other pro golfers are extending their support in the matter.

After marrying caddie Pete Godfrey in 2017, Park was blessed with a baby girl in 2020, named Grace Godfrey. But tragedy made a strike on the happy family when 10 months after her birth, the baby girl started having seizures and swelling in her brain and was rushed to the hospital. Ultimately the seizures and swelling led to brain damage which resulted in Grace facing a life of hardships ahead of her. And to support Grace and her family in their difficult journey, a special hat with the name of Grace engraved on it will be available at the DOW event.

The official Instagram page of the event also shared a picture of the cap. All the money collected from the purchase of these caps will be given to charities that treat similar diseases.
