Rafael Nadal says ‘years keep passing by’ as he addresses dilemma with wife

Rafael Nadal has currently been competing Down Under at the Australian Open 2022. The tennis star, who has previously admitted to being committed to the sport, has given a rare insight into his family life in an unearthed interview.

The 35-year-old tied the knot with his wife Xisca Perello – born Maria Francisca Perello – after a long-term relationship in 2019.

The pair met when they were teenagers, dating for many years before tying the knot.

Their glamorous wedding took place in a Spanish castle in Majorca called La Fortaleza.

However, Nadal spoke candidly about the couple’s family plans ahead of their nuptials.

Nadal’s comments come after he was asked if he would be following in his tennis rival Roger Federer’s footsteps in 2017.

Federer has four kids, two sets of twins, with his wife Mirka Federer.

Rafael’s other half is an insurance worker and business graduate.

She serves as project director for the Rafa Nadal Foundation, the charity which Nadal launched almost ten years ago.

The pair reportedly started dating in 2005 despite having known each other for a number of years before.

Having dated for 14 years, it was a case of “finally” when they tied the knot.

They announced their engagement in January 2019, before getting married the following October.

The couple said their vows in front of around 350 guests at the La Fortaleza castle in Majorca, the island of his birth.
