Wimbledon news: Emma Raducanu snub speaks volumes as Ukrainian star refuses to shake hands
Express Sport brings you live updates from the middle Sunday at Wimbledon as Novak Djokovic looks to make it to the quarter-finals.
There may not be any British players left in either the men’s or the women’s singles draw heading into the second week of Wimbledon after Andy Murray and Katie Boulter became the last ones to fall. But it will not take nothing away from the drama at SW19 as the players reach the halfway point of the tournament.
Novak Djokovic, Carlos Alcaraz and Iga Swiatek have all breezed through comfortably in their matches so far as many would expect. But with tougher tests to come – and a potential final on the cards between the top two seeds in the men’s draw – there is still much to be play for.
Emma Raducanu might have felt differently though, as the injured star opted to skip the chance to attend Saturday’s matches with other plans on her agenda.
Elsewhere, the tension is set to rise again on the middle Sunday with the first meeting between a Ukrainian and Belarusian player at Wimbledon since the Russian invasion of Ukraine began in February 2022.
