With the Open Championship at Royal Liverpool in a week’s time, the stars are all out at this week’s Genesis Scottish Open in the hopes of sharpening their links skills before the season’s final major.
Two of those stars are Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy, the World No. 1 and World No. 3 who are both on insanely-good runs of form. Scheffler, a slight favorite this week at +650 (DraftKings), hasn’t finished outisde the top 12 of a golf tournament since October. McIlroy, meanwhile, has finished T-9 or better in seven of his last 10 starts. He’s at +700.
The defending champion at the Renaissance Club, Xander Schauffele, is at 14-1 along with his best buddy Patrick Cantlay. Rickie Fowler, coming off his comeback win at the Rocket Mortgage Classic, is 18-1, as is Viktor Hovland.
Matt Fitzpatrick is the lone man at 20-1, and his fellow Englishman, Tommy Fleetwood, is 22-1. Jordan Spieth and Tyrrell Hatton might be two of the best value plays on the board at 25-1. Max Homa, Shane Lowry and Justin Thomas are 35-1.
