‘I just do what I’m told’ Tommy Fleetwood gives rare insight into marriage with wife
Tommy Fleetwood is currently gearing up to launch his 2022 campaign in Abu Dhabi – where he is a two-time winner. The Southport golfer opened up about his professional life as he shared a rare insight into his marriage.
The professional athlete has been managed by his partner Clare since 2015.
Before taking on the golf pro as a client, she was vice president of the sports management company Hambric Sports.
The golfer addressed the couple’s relationship in a candid interview in 2018.
“It works very well. I do as I’m told when needed to,” Tommy told The Telegraph.
“When we started, we obviously never knew how it was going to go and I think we were always open to the idea if it didn’t work then we’d try something else, but luckily for us, we get on so well.”
Tommy added: “I guess it’s our relationship in a way, but we’ve not had any trouble yet.”
The golf champion also shared that his wife is not keen on being considered a Wag – an acronym used to refer to wives and girlfriends of high-profile sportsmen.
