Photos: Emma Raducanu surgery rehab underway: Working on bringing my forearm back

Emma Raducanu is in the process of rehabbing after undergoing multiple surgeries as the Briton told her fans she is “working on bringing my forearm back.” On March 3rd, Raducanu had surgery on her right wrist. That same day, Raducanu announced she would also have surgeries on her left wrist and left ankle.

Raducanu had ankle surgery on March 5th before also surgically repairing her left wrist 10 days later. “Working on bringing my forearm back,” Raducanu captioned her Instagram Story.

Raducanu hopes to be back fully healthy
Raducanu undergoing multiple surgeries didn’t really come as a surprise. For a long period, Raducanu was dealing with a wrist issue and an ankle injury sustained in January didn’t help either.

In the end, Raducanu figured out there was no point in continuing to play through pain and discomfort. “It is safe to say the last 10 months have been difficult as I dealt with a recurring injury on a bone of both hands.

I tried my best to manage the pain and play through it for most of this year and end of last year by reducing practice load dramatically, missing weeks of training as well as cutting last season short to try [to] heal it.

Unfortunately, it’s not enough. I’m having a minor procedure done on both hands to resolve the issues. I’m disappointed to share that I will be out for the next few months and while I am at it will have another minor procedure that is due on my ankle.

It pains me that I will miss the summer events and I tried to downplay the issues so I thank all my fans who continued to support me when you did not know the facts. Looking forward to seeing you all back out there,” Raducanu said in early March.

On Thursday, Raducanu also announced a split with coach Sebastian Sachs. Considering that Raducanu won’t return to action soon, she will probably take her time before naming a new coach.
