Jordan Spieth explodes with fury and yells at himself during PGA Championship

Jordan Spieth was very unhappy with himself after one of his tee shots during the third round of the PGA Championship on Saturday in New York

Jordan Spieth could not hide his frustration after being unhappy with one of his tee shots during the US PGA Championship. The second major of the Year is taking place this week at the Oak Hill Country Country Club in Pittsford, New York.

Spieth was three-over par after the first two rounds of the tournament, only just managing to make the cut for the weekend. Four-time major champion Brooks Koepka was the leader after the third round at six-under par, one stroke ahead of second-placed Viktor Hovland.

The frustrating moment from Spieth came early on during his third round on Saturday. At the par-three third hole, Spieth aimed his tee shot but it fell well short of the green.

Before the ball had even finished traveling, Spieth did not hide his irritation as he let out an expletive outburst which could be heard by the microphone on the tee. Spieth yelled: “Damn it, hit one good f*****g iron shot,” before walking back to his caddie.

Spieth would go on to get a bogey on the third hole after failing to get up and down from his tee shot. Thankfully for the American, his round would show signs of improvement.

He would go on to hit four birdies, three bogeys in total and a double bogey to record a round of 71 and one-over par. That left his three-over par for the tournament and some nine shots adrift of the leader.

A late surge to win the major championship was highly unlikely for Spieth going into his fourth round. But getting in as the clubhouse header would have been something that the 29-year-old would have been aiming for as a realistic target.
