‘I Absolutely Hate Retiring’ – Canadian Tennis Star Eugenie Bouchard Receives Another Massive Blow
Eugenie Bouchard stayed on the sidelines for over a year and made a comeback in a Vancouver-based tournament. Because of her shoulder injury and subsequent surgery, she could only participate in the last Grand Slam of this season, the US Open. However, there she failed to make it past the qualifiers.
The Canadian tennis ace is currently struggling with her form and the recent injury is only going to make it worse. She incurred a hip injury in the ongoing Winners Open and her run in the WTA tour has come to a halt once again.
A couple of days ago, the 2014 Wimbledon Championships runner-up claimed she was playing pain-free. However, the unfortunate injury that originated as a harmless tweak has ruined her plans. An overwhelmed Bouchard, speaking about the same, admitted, “I am just disappointed to have ended my tournament in Romania this way because I really loved being here in Cluj.”
Thereafter, she explained, “I pulled my hip flexor a few days ago in practice. I tried everything to be ready for this match. I got an MRI yesterday and didn’t show anything too bad, so I thought I could play.”
