Paige Spiranac’s biggest rival, Katie Sigmond, could face jail time for playing golf in Grand Canyon

Katie Sigmond has been described by many as the new Paige Spiranac.

The social media personality has over three million followers on Instagram and another seven million on TikTok. That’s roughly 10 million across both platforms- just a few million shy of Paige herself.

Rather like Spiranac, Katie Sigmond’s gorgeous golf swing is largely responsible for her huge social media following. Her excellent technique and gorgeous looks are a recipe for success.

However, the 20-year-old has been in trouble with the law recently after taking her golfing a bit too far.

In one her recent videos, the California native can be seen playing some golf shots into the Grand Canyon National Park, considered one of the most beautiful natural landscapes in the world.

But this time, her video wasn’t as well received as she might have expected. In fact, the national park’s social media account got hold of her TikTok and reposted it, criticizing for her for her thoughtless actions.

“Do we really need to say, ‘don’t hit golf balls into the Grand Canyon? On October 26, an individual posted a video to her personal TikTok page showing her hitting a golf club into the canyon near Mather Point”, they wrote.

Members of the public supposedly collaborated with authorities to help identify Sigmond. The national park’s social media confirmed that:

“On October 27, Grand Canyon Law Enforcement identified, located and contacted the individual responsible for the incident. Charges and a court appearance for the individual are pending.”

As reported by AZ central, the golfer has been charged with ‘Class B misdemeanors’, which can carry a fairly hefty 5,000 fine and in a worst-case scenario six months in prison.

Sigmond will certainly be sticking to the golf course from now on.
