Despite His Concerning Injury Just Days Before the PGA Championship, Jordan Spieth Arrives Just on Time to Fulfill His Mother’s Day Commitment
The past few weeks have been hard for Jordan Spieth. Being from Dallas, Texas, the golfer was expected to compete in his home-based PGA Tour event, AT&T Byron Nelson. However, he upset many of his fellow Texas residents after announcing his withdrawal from the event. Despite missing the tournament, Spieth ensured to make a special announcement before the final round at TPC Craig Ranch.
After announcing a wrist injury two days before the commencement of AT&T Byron Nelson, Jordan announced his withdrawal. While his absence from the event was missed by many among his large fan following, Spieth made his presence known through a heartwarming gesture on Mother’s Day.
Jordan Spieth’s special Mother’s Day message
Known to be his biggest fan, Spieth’s mother Christine Spieth has always been around the golfer during his time of need. Though Jordan didn’t compete at the latest PGA Tour event, he had a message for his mother as well as for all the ‘golf moms’ around the world. “Happy Mothers’ Day to all moms out there”, said the 3-time Major winner.
Jordan Spieth then gave a ‘shoutout’ to all the moms around him such as his own mom and his wife Annie Verret. The golfer then shared his message by saying, “To all the attendees at the AT&T Byron Nelson this weekend. Hope your wearing your pink and supporting those who allowed you to be here”. The theme of Mothers’ Day did take over the TPC Craig Ranch on Sunday.
