Andy Murray has shared who his kids’ favourite tennis player would be aside from himself. The world No 52 revealed that his four children didn’t even watch the sport as he guessed his brother Jamie would be their pick. It comes after Murray shared an adorable message from one of his daughters, who explained why she wanted to stop playing tennis.
Murray is one of several tennis parents on the tour, sharing four children with wife Kim Sears. While some players’ kids – like Novak Djokovic’s son Stefan – are fans of the sport who enjoy both playing and watching, the Brit confessed that his son and three daughters likely wouldn’t know of any other players.
The former world No 1 took fan questions during an appearance on the ATP Tennis Radio Podcast over the weekend, with one asking who his kids’ favourite player would be aside from himself. “My kids don’t know any tennis players,” he admitted.
“They don’t watch or follow at all unfortunately so I don’t have an answer to that.” But Murray did manage to come up with a response to the question, joking that it would likely be his brother – doubles star Jamie Murray.
