‘That’s $960,000,000’: Ahead of Serene $25M Event, Mind-Blowing LIV Golf Revelation Stuns the Golf World

Ahead of the Chevron Championship, golf enthusiasts had been highly anticipating the return of LPGA sensation Lexi Thompson. Her only other appearance in the 2023 LPGA Tour season came last month in the LPGA Drive-On Championship.

After a successful event in Australia this past weekend, the stars of LIV Golf are heading to the ‘Lion City’, Singapore. While the 48 golfers will have the privilege to compete at the incredible Sentosa Golf Club, the exclusive membership does allow fellow residents to play the 18-hole sport very easily. However, with the 6-figure membership fee, let’s take a look at how much it costs to play at LIV’s upcoming venue.

The Singapore tournament will mark LIV Golf’s fifth event of the season. It will commence on April 28th and end on the 30th of April. Nonetheless, similar to the Saudi-funded Tour’s $25 million prize money, the league’s venues are just as lavish as LIV’s prize offerings. In simpler terms, the Sentosa Golf Club is only for the ultra-rich.

The iconic golf club was founded in 1993 and has previously hosted Singapore Open along with LPGA’s HSBC Women’s World Championship. Set on a lush island south of Singapore’s rump, the facility is surrounded by the Resorts World casino, Universal Studios, and a marina that attracts ocean-going yachts from as far as the Caribbean.

With a lavish environment, it isn’t easy for most avid golfers to get into the Sentosa Golf Club. Local Singaporeans are required to pay an exorbitant amount of S$500,000. However, the expatriates who are willing to pay for the extravagant membership, are asked a lot more than the citizens and permanent residents. To join the 36-hole club, the outsiders’ membership costs S$840,000 ($618,000).
