‘Good News’: After Suffering an Unfortunate Medical Setback, Lexi Thompson Provides Crucial Return Update
Golf fans were eagerly awaiting the performance of American golf star, Lexi Thompson at the Chevron Championship, her first major tournament of the year. However, Thompson, who had played only twice in 2023, arrived at the The Club at Carleton Woods: Jack Nicklaus Signature Course, with a taped-up right wrist. The golfer had been practicing intensely back home in Florida, and the pain in her wrist had started a week earlier. However, today she gave an update about her wrist injury on her social media. But is Lexi back in form again?
Lexi Thompson updates on her wrist injury
Thompson had worked hard to get the wrist taped up, and received treatment to overcome the injury, but she admitted that the pain was still there.
The pain in Thompson’s wrist became evident during the tournament. However, today she shared a story on her Instagram, “Well, good news about my hand, it was inflammation around a tendon. So with the right treatment, it will hopefully be a speedy recovery! Look forward to playing the next two weeks.”
Thompson is known for her intense approach to the game, often dedicating two hours a day to putting practice. In preparation for the Chevron Championship, she placed particular emphasis on ball-striking. Despite suffering from a wrist injury, Thompson has maintained a positive attitude and was seen in good spirits at the Champions Dinner in Texas, sharing laughter with former Solheim Cup captains, Juli Inkster and Pat Hurst. With years of experience playing in major tournaments, Thompson understands the level of dedication required to win. She secured her first and only major title at the 2014 Chevron Championship, where she triumphed over Michelle Wie West by a margin of three strokes.
