‘In His Bubble’: Despite Sharing a ‘Great Friendship’, 2X Major Champion Busts Myths About Max Homa’s ‘Outgoing’ Personality

Max Homa is one name that every golf fan has heard a lot about this year! From pulling off a few stunning finishes to narrowly missing out on the win in a few events, he has garnered a lot of attention of late. And while the entire golf world now knows him as Twitter’s funny guy and the brilliant, friendly golfer, apparently things weren’t like that a few years ago. According to a 2-time major championship winner, who had met him seven years earlier, Homa was a different man!

The PGA Tour heads to New Orleans this week for its team event, the Zurich Classic. Homa and Collin Morikawa were both paired up together at the event and on Tuesday, they sat down for an interview together. From discussing the change of pace that the team’s play brought to talking about their partnering up with each other for the first time, the two had a lot to say

But despite this being their first time playing as teammates, it wasn’t their first time playing together. In fact, back in 2016, when Morikawa was just a 19-year-old “fat little kid,” the two played together in a practice round! And as per the 2-time major winner, Homa was a different man back then. “This was, I think, the first time I had ever met Max. And he did not care about me at all,” said the 26-year-old.
