‘Nobody Cares’: Days Before LIV Golf’s Adelaide Event, Golf Fans Left Furious With Rival League’s Latest On Course Change
Ever since the Masters ended last week, things have begun looking up for LIV Golf. With many of its players performing brilliantly at the major and with three of them securing top-5 finishes, things seemed to have turned around for the new series. Fans finally appeared to be acknowledging their presence and authority. But that mental turnaround in the golf world about the new league being accepted didn’t sink in too deeply. And as the Saudi-Backed series heads to Australia for its event next week, fans lashed out at its latest attraction piece!
Much like the PGA Tour’s famous Waste Management Phoenix Open’s famous 16th hole, LIV’s Adelaide event will also have a colosseum-like structure. At the 12th hole of the Grange Golf Club, grandstands have been built around the hole, encompassing it. Moreover, the hole will feature DJs, music, alcohol, and, of course, thousands of fans cheering on their favorite defectors.
LIV Golf unquestionably tried to recreate the Phoenix Open’s iconic hole, and by adding their own twist to it, they brought the fans even closer to the players on the course. “Check out how close the fans are to the tee,” wrote Flushing It Golf on Twitter with a video of the hole. But not everyone in the golf world shared the same excitement.
Golf fans diss the LIV Golf party hole!
Despite the new league garnering a lot of attention off late, fans didn’t seem to like LIV’s party hole concept, which it poached from the PGA Tour.
