‘Didn’t Intimidate Me’: Days After Tiger Woods’ Painful Exit, Honest Admission Surfaces About the 47-Year-Old

As the 87th edition of Masters drew to an end on Sunday, the golf world bore witness to several iconic moments at the Augusta this year. One of the most thrilling moments at the 2023 Masters came in the form of Tiger Woods‘ record-tying 23rd consecutive cut last Saturday.

With his latest feat, the 5-time Masters champion has set his name alongside Fred Couples and Gary Player in the golf history books. Despite his struggles with injury, Woods’ tenacious nature has drawn great praise from fans and players alike. One golfer, in particular, who has heaped praises on the 15-time major champion is 56-year-old Jerry Kelly.

Jerry Kelly appeared on the latest episode of GOLF’s Subpar podcast, hosted by former pro-golfer, Colt Knost and his longtime friend, Drew Stoltz. When asked about his favorite Tiger Woods moments, the 3-time PGA Tour winner talked about “wanting to beat” a flawless Woods.

“I was such a competitor wanting to beat him so bad,” shared Kelly. He also talked about the media’s role in adding to the fascination surrounding the 47-year-old golfer. “Everybody in the media kept on saying, you know, why are you guys so afraid of him? Why does he intimidate you so much.”
