Tiger Woods withdraws from The Masters as brutal clip of golf legend sparks fresh concerns

Tiger Woods has pulled out of the tournament after completing seven holes of his third round.

Tiger Woods has officially withdrawn from The Masters after limping through the first few holes of his third round on Saturday. The 15-time major had made the cut by the skin of his teeth on Saturday despite finishing three-over through 36 holes.

He only had a few hours to recover from playing the remainder of his second round before the third round got underway. Woods had already shown signs that the inclement weather throughout Augusta was having a bad effect on his body with the golfing icon seen limping and wincing on several occasions.

That noticable pain appeared to only get worse once he got his third round underway and it showed on his scorecard. Woods was only able to complete seven holes before play was suspended due to torrential rain.

The suspension potentially saved Woods from further embarrassment as he had gone five-over par in his final three holes. After dunking the ball into the water on the 15th hole, Woods hobbled back to his caddie in clear pain.

After play was suspended, Woods was sat on nine-over par for the tournament and he’s not brought his 2023 Masters run to an end. The Masters announced Woods’ withdrawal on social media, writing: “Due to injury, @TigerWoods has officially withdrawn from the Masters Tournament after completing seven holes of his third round.”
