With each passing year, the ultimatum of golf legend, Tiger Woods, edges closer. The 47-year-old is already in the twilight of his career. Add to that the severe damage to his body and you can barely see more years at the game’s highest level. But Woods’ mentality has let him battle all the adversities so far. Yet by his admission, his time could be near.
Tiger Woods iterates his Masters approach
The 47-year-old returns to one of the most celebrated major championships in good spirits having recovered from severe injuries. He played the last edition of the event in discomfort after damaging his knee in a near-fatal car accident in February 2021.
The 15-time major championship winner made his competitive debut this season at the Genesis Open on the PGA Tour. He has chosen his events wisely since, with an eye on work exertion.
But while an aim for victory at the Masters is never out of question, Woods has made his intentions clear before the start of the tournament. On being asked whether he ever thinks that every appearance at the iconic Augusta National could be his last, Woods took a deep breath. “Yes, it has,” he said.
The golf great further explained why he considered his time to be up last year. “Last year was kind of, did not felt I was gonna play again, at that time. For some reason, everything came together and I pushed through a little bit. I was able to make the cut, which was nice,” Woods said.
