Leylah Fernandez, the Canadian tennis player, announced exciting news for her fans on Instagram. She formally launched the Leylah Annie and Family Foundation.
The Canadian athlete claims that the foundation’s mission is to promote education and sports to the quality of life for families and children.
Fernandez claimed that students who need financial aid will be given scholarships for higher education as part of the program. The organization will also help youngsters who succeed in any sport. Fernandez was excited to share the news on her Instagram
Fernandez achieved her first professional tennis singles title in 2019. She defeated fellow Canadian Carson Branstine in the Gatineau Challenger final. In the same year, Fernandez won her first doubles match as a professional alongside Vancouver’s Rebecca Marino.
Fernandez kicked off the 2022 season elegantly at aide International. She advanced to the round of 16, where Iga Swiatek defeated her in two sets to send her packing. In the opening round of the Australian Open, the 23rd seed lost to Maddison Inglis.
