German tennis star Alexander Zverev and Sophia Thomalla enjoyed some quality in the Maldives. Thomalla, a German actress, model, and TV presenter, turned 33 this week. Zverev, the top-ranked German tennis player, wished his girlfriend a very “happy 18th birthday.” “Happy 18th birthday for the 16th time @sophiathomalla,” Zverev captioned his Instagram post.

“33! Had a wonderful time with Sascha and his family, who try to support at all levels all the time to make sure he’ll be back on the tennis court as soon as possible while I am trying to stay away from tv shows as long as possible to enjoy my birthday with them at this wonderful place.
Unfortunately will be back next week. Thank you for all the birthday wishes,” Thomalla wrote on Instagram.
Meanwhile, Zverev hasn’t played since the French Open.
After tearing several ankle ligaments at the French Open, Zverev was set to return to action during the Davis Cup Finals group stage. Then just a day before the start of the event, Zverev announced he contracted a bone edema.
In his announcement, Zverev hinted he would likely be out for an extended period and probably miss the rest of the 2022 season. “It’s not a question of days. It’s probably going to be a question of weeks, most likely even months.
It was obviously a massive goal for me to play here because it’s my home town, I know the stadium very well. I had my first big success here back in 2014. So of course I’m disappointed. But at the end of the day, to be honest there’s nothing I can do about it,” Zverev said in September.
It hasn’t been an easy season for Zverev health-wise. It remains to be seen if we will see him in action before the season ends.
