Sick to my stomach’: Sporting world reacts to Tiger Woods crash

Ex-girlfriend Lindsey Vonn has led the sporting world in praying for Tiger Woods after the golf legend was injured in a horror car accident on Wednesday.

Woods suffered multiple leg injuries in a single-vehicle accident in the Los Angeles area and was rushed to hospital for surgery

The full extent of Woods’ injuries were not immediately known, though authorities say they are not considered life-threatening.

Woods, the sole occupant in the SUV, had to be extricated from the vehicle with the “jaws of life” tools, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said in a statement.

The vehicle sustained major damage, the sheriff’s department said.

“Tiger Woods was in a single-car accident this morning in California where he suffered multiple leg injuries,” his manager, Mark Steinberg, said.

“He is currently in surgery and we thank you for your privacy and support.”

Ex-girlfriend Vonn, a world champion and Olympic skier, said she was “praying” for Woods.

“Praying for TW right now,” she tweeted.

Woods and Vonn dated for about three years before they broke up in 2015.

She was regularly spotted at major tournaments watching him play.

Also reacting to Woods’ crash on Tuesday, fellow golfer Jordan Thomas said he was “sick to his stomach”

“It hurts to see one of my closest friends in an accident,” Thomas said at the Workday Championship in Florida.

“Man, I just hope he’s all right. I just worry for his kids. I’m sure they’re struggling.”
