British tennis star Emma Raducanu has learned she will face promising Czech teen Linda Fruhvirtova in the ASB Classic first round. Raducanu, 20, and 17-year-old Fruhvirtova will be clashing against each other for the first time when they meet on the hard courts of Auckland.
Should Raducanu beat world No 79 Fruhvirtova, she would then likely meet fourth-seeded Bernarda Pera in the round-of-16. In the quarterfinal, Raducanu could potentially meet seventh-seeded Danka Kovinic. If Raducanu makes the semifinal, she could potentially meet 2022 French Open runner-up Cori Gauff or even seven-time Grand Slam champion Venus Williams.
In the bottom part of the draw, the two top-seeded players are Leylah Fernandez and Sloane Stephens, so those are the two players Raducanu could face in the final, if she makes it that far.
