Tyson Fury sent ‘madman’ warning by Derek Chisora sparring partner ahead of trilogy fight
Fast-rising British heavyweight prospect Frazer Clarke says that Derek Chisora is training like a ‘madman’ for his trilogy fight with Tyson Fury. Clarke believes Chisora will give Fury a ‘hard day’ despite convincingly losing their last two encounters.
Fury vs Chisora has received a negative response from boxing fans since its announcement last month. Many had hoped for the long-awaited Anthony Joshua fight. However, communications dropped at the eleventh hour after drawn-out negotiations between the two parties.
Fury beat Chisora in 2011 and 2014. Given the career trajectories of both men since then (Fury becoming a two-time world champion and Chisora floating around fringe contendership) the fight has received its fair share of criticism.
Few give Chisora much of a chance and there is a continued debate as to whether better options could have been explored. But Clarke – a long-time training partner of Chisora’s – warns spectators to underestimate Chisora at their own peril.
“He actually took me a full day with him. We had sparring and then I went and did an S&C session. Credit where it’s due. That man trains very hard. Very hard,” Clarke told Sky Sports.
