Jordan Spieth is one of the most decorated golfers ever, with the 29-year-old already claiming three of the four coveted major titles. However, the one major that has evaded him since he went pro at age 19 is the PGA Championship title. The golfer came close to winning it in 2015, losing the Wanamaker trophy to fellow PGA Tour compatriot Jason Day.
With a possible career grand slam at stake, Spieth’s fans were greatly disappointed when he broke the news about his wrist injury last week. Consequently, the golfer also withdrew from the recently-concluded AT&T Byron Nelson event. But will the 3-time major winner return to action for the year’s second major? Well, former PGA Tour golfer Colt Knost believes he will.
Knost, a member of CBS Sports‘ golf coverage team, shared on Monday that Spieth is traveling to New York for the event. “He is making the trip to Rochester tonight. [I] haven’t heard from him much this week, but he will be making the trip,” he said. The 105th edition of the major will be held at the Oak Hill Country Club in Rochester, New York. The iconic golf course has previously hosted three editions of the PGA Championship.
