Tiger Woods’ son Charlie falls short in surprise qualification bid for PGA Tour
Tiger Woods’ son, Charlie, has unfortunately failed to qualify for his first PGA Tour event after a brutal round that ended his hopes of reaching the Palm Beach Garden event. There was plenty of hype around the son of the 15-time golf major winner who was aiming to reach a pre-qualifying event.
However, the 15-year-old shot 16-over par 86 in a frustrating day and will have to wait for a PGA Tour event debut. Unfortunately for Charlie, it was hole No.5 that ended his hopes of making a comeback.
Charlie’s 12 on a par-four meant the teen was scrambling for the rest of the day to salvage his score. He managed to par his next six holes as he did his best to stay with the field and put up a competitive total.
But things didn’t get better after a brutal double bogey on the par-3 14th ended the youngster’s dreams. The course was tough with three other players in the early groups over 11 over-par in their rounds.
