Tennis stunner Genie Bouchard left red-faced as sexy swimming costume pic used for credential

Canadian tennis beauty Eugenie ‘Genie’ Bouchard was left red-faced and called out tournament organisers after a sexy swimming costume picture was used by pranksters in the credential office.

The 28-year-old asked for organisers of the Odlum Brown VanOpen to explain why a picture of her posing for the 2018 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit magazine issue were used for her credentials with a laughing emoji. Her Instagram post to her 2.3million followers soon got a response and her credentials were exchanged for a more suitable alternative, of her fully clothed in a training jacket.

In a follow up post on Instagram she told her followers that she had finally “got a real one”. It was the blond bombshell’s first tournament since June last year after recovering from a nasty shoulder injury sustained during the Guadalajara Open.

Former world No.5 Bouchard was beaten 6-2 6-2, on her return from injury by Dutch professional Arianne Hartono. She had more success in the women’s doubles joined by fellow Canadian Kayla Cross with the pair winning their last-16 game on a tie-break before losing out at the quarter-final stage.

The 28-year-old shot to stardom after becoming the first Canadian-born player to represent the country in the final of a Grand Slam tournament in singles when she reached the 2014 Wimbledon final, finishing runner-up to Petra Kvitová.

An injury-enforced break from tennis has resulted in Bouchard losing her WTA Ranking. She is now back to fitness and has posted videos on her Instagram page of her preparations ready for a competitive return.

After Bouchard’s 2014 Wimbledon final defeat the Canadian was named the most marketable athlete in the world by SportsPro after she had secured deals with the likes of Nike and Coca Cola.

She is also registered for the US Open qualifying with the last Grand Slam of the year getting under way at the end of August.
